Terms of Service

Yapaa is a private social application operated by Flowna Circuit Tech Limited ("Flowna", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms govern your access to and use of Yapaa. By creating an account or using Yapaa, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Yapaa.

1. Who may use Yapaa

You must be at least 16 years old to use Yapaa. You must provide accurate age and account information and must not attempt to bypass our eligibility or safety controls.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping control of your account and authentication methods. You must not impersonate another person, create an account for deceptive purposes, transfer an account, or create an account to evade a restriction. Contact support@yapaa.co promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Friends and answer-to-reveal

Yapaa is based on accepted, mutual friendships. You decide whom to accept. A friendship does not provide unrestricted access to another person's information. To view a friend's answer to the current daily question, you may first need to answer the same question. Attempting to bypass answer locks, blocks, or other privacy controls is prohibited.

Removing a friend ends access to future answers and prevents new mentions between you. It does not retroactively remove answers that were already revealed. Historical Memories may continue to show content that was lawfully revealed before the friendship ended. Blocking ends mutual access immediately.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the intellectual-property rights you hold in content you submit, including answers, photos, profile information, reactions, and reports. You grant Flowna a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and improve Yapaa.

This licence does not transfer ownership to us. It ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup cycles and information lawfully retained for security, safety, dispute, or legal purposes. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to submit your content.

5. Other people's content and privacy

You may not scrape, commercially exploit, impersonate the creator of, or unlawfully redistribute another person's content. Do not use content to harass someone or expose another person's private information. A recipient may still capture content they are permitted to view, so do not share information you would not want an intended friend to receive.

7. Safety, moderation, and appeals

Yapaa provides controls to remove friends, block people, and report content. We may review, preserve, restrict, or remove content, and may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account, when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, respond to reports, protect people or the service, investigate abuse, or comply with law.

8. Notifications and communications

With your permission, Yapaa may send daily-question, friend-activity, mention, reaction, streak, request, memory, account, and security communications. You can manage optional push notifications in Yapaa or your device settings. Delivery time is not guaranteed.

9. Third-party services

Yapaa relies on service providers for authentication, hosting, data storage, notifications, email, and distribution. Their services may be subject to separate terms and policies. Our Privacy Policy explains how providers process information for Yapaa.

10. Yapaa intellectual property

Except for user content, Yapaa and its software, design, name, logo, graphics, original question library, and documentation belong to Flowna or its licensors. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit them except as permitted by law or with written permission. Our Copyright Policy explains how to report infringement.

11. Feedback

If you voluntarily send product ideas or feedback, you allow us to use them to improve Yapaa without payment or an ownership obligation to you. This does not transfer unrelated intellectual property that belongs to you. To the extent permitted by law, you waive moral rights in feedback you voluntarily submit.

12. Suspension and deletion

We may restrict or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations, illegal conduct, threats to safety, fraud, security abuse, or legal obligations. You may request permanent account deletion in Yapaa at Profile → Safety and account → Delete account. Our Account & Data Deletion Policy explains the process and the external request route.

13. Changes and availability

We may change or discontinue features. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide at least 14 days’ notice by email, in-app notification, or this website before a material change takes effect. Daily questions and availability may change. Cancelled question dates are excluded from streak continuity.

14. Disclaimers and liability

Except where we expressly state otherwise, including our treatment of cancelled question dates for streak continuity, Yapaa is provided on an "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, the conduct of every user, the accuracy of user content, delivery of every notification, or permanent availability of content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flowna is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising solely from use of Yapaa. Flowna’s aggregate liability arising from or relating to Yapaa will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid to Flowna during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any warranty, liability, consumer protection, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

15. Your responsibility for claims

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from content you submit, unlawful use of Yapaa, or a material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from Flowna’s negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of law, and it does not limit non-excludable consumer rights.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or Yapaa. If you use Yapaa as a consumer in another country, this clause does not remove mandatory rights or access to courts that the law of your country of residence does not allow you to waive.
